Makkah - The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the adoption by the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), during its 221st session convened in Paris, France, of a resolution entitled "Impact and consequences of the current situation in the Gaza Strip in all aspects of UNESCO's mandate."
In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organisation of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, stressed the critical need for the international community to urgently assume its responsibilities to stop the Israeli occupation government's ongoing horrific violations against civilians and civilian facilities in Gaza with impunity. He also demanded an end to the targeting of UN agencies, enabling their work in Gaza and all occupied Palestinian territories.
