A mother of two from England died unexpectedly while on holiday in Türkiye, with her heart allegedly removed from her chest cavity, according to officials.
Beth Martin died from an unknown illness, and her family is demanding answers after a post-mortem revealed that her heart was missing.
Mrs Martin's husband, Luke Martin, claimed she felt sick during the flight from the United Kingdom to Türkiye and thought it was food poisoning. She then became "delirious" within hours of arriving in Istanbul and was admitted to the hospital, where she passed away the next day.
According to the Turkish Health Ministry, Ms Martin died after "cardiac arrest due to multiple organ failure," but no other details were provided.
The family of the deceased reported possible medical incompetence and claimed that an improper investigation was conducted by the Turkish authorities.
Ms Martin's death is currently being investigated, and it could take up to six months for coroners to determine what caused her organ failure.
