Kuwaiti Customs officers have foiled an attempt to smuggle cigarettes, hidden inside flour bags, into the country.
A Saudi national driving through the Al Salmi border crossing was going through the routine inspection procedure when a customs officer became suspicious of the flour bags in the vehicle.
Upon closer look, he realised that the bags were extensively tampered with to conceal 22 packs of cigarettes in sealed compartments.
Authorities promptly seized the contraband and filed an official criminal report.
