Oman's OQ Alternative Energy has sealed an agreement with Kuwait's Naqaa Sustainable Energy to jointly invest in multiple wind energy projects across Duqm, Mahout, and Sadah. These sites are located in Oman's Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates.
The collaborative ventures are anticipated to generate 1,100 megawatts (MW) of power. This capacity will be harnessed using wind turbines that are to be locally manufactured at Mawarid Turbine's forthcoming factory in Duqm, as reported by the official Omani News Agency.
The agreement was formalised by Chairman of OQ Alternative Energy Saeed bin Mohammed Al Masoudi and CEO of Naqaa Mustafa bin Mohammed al Hinai.
