Kuwait Interior Ministry has arrested a 52-member gang, allegedly involved in manufacturing and promoting local liquor in rented houses in six residential areas across the country.
After completing the necessary legal procedures, simultaneous raids were carried out on a number of targeted residential locations where authorities uncovered fully equipped breweries, seizing large quantities of raw materials and thousands of pre-filled barrels ready for distribution. Eight vehicles used for logistics were also confiscated.
Two gang members were arrested with significant cash and a money-counting machine, while the main suspect was captured after extensive surveillance, the ministry said.
According to officials, he was running the network via telephone and in coordination with parties outside the country.
The Ministry emphasised the dangers of such illegal activities in residential areas and its commitment to combating them.
