A Kuwaiti man has been sentenced by the Kuwaiti Criminal Court to six years in prison with hard labour over a tweet deemed insulting to the Amir.
The court handed him a five-year prison sentence with hard labour and ordered the closure of his social media accounts for a year. Additionally, he will be placed under police surveillance for five years following the completion of his sentence, and his mobile phone has been confiscated.
He was also handed an additional year on a separate fourth charge and fined KD 5,000 (BD 6,170).
