FOOTBALL – THE official draw for the 2025-26 Gulf Club Champions League has been set for August 11, the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) announced yesterday.
The tournament is scheduled to be held from September of this year to April of next year, with eight clubs taking part.
The draw will take place virtually via video conferencing technology, with representatives from each of the teams set to join.
The kingdom’s side competing in this year’s second edition of the Gulf Club Champions League is Sitra, who are to be joined by Al Ain from the UAE, Al Shabab from Saudi Arabia, Zakho from Iraq, Al Nahda from Oman, Al Rayyan from Qatar, Al Qadsia from Kuwait, and Al Tadamun Hadramaut from Yemen.
Sitra are flying the kingdom’s flag in the championship after finishing an impressive third amongst 12 teams in the 2024-25 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Sitra, coached by Isa Al Saadoun, have already begun their local training sessions ahead of their upcoming 2025-26 season.
