TENNIS – The Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) launched over the weekend its junior training programme at Dana Mall.
The initiative, which targets children until the age of seven, aims to spread the culture of tennis from an early age.
It is part of the BTF’s strategy to establish a large base of players who can be part of future national teams.
The programme aims to foster a passion for the game amongst its participants as well as discover and develop new talent.
BTF secretary general Fuad Al Rowaie stated that the junior training comes in implantation of the directives of BTF president Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa to provide platforms to promote tennis amongst youngsters.
Al Rowaie called on parents to encourage their children to participate in the programme, which is not only a physical activity but also promotes social values and sportsmanship.
Al Rowaie thanked Dana Mall management for agreeing to host the programme and for providing all necessary facilities for its success.
Training sessions are held daily at the mall from 11am to 3pm until September 5.
