Five MPs are seeking to suspend salary increases for expatriates working in Bahrain’s public sector and believe the proposal, if implemented, would strengthen financial discipline and create more opportunities for citizens.
The legislators – Abdulwahed Qarata, Hesham Al Awadhi, Dr Hisham Al Asheeri, Mohsin Al Asbool and Ahmed Qarata – have highlighted the need to rationalise government spending and ensure that national resources are directed primarily towards citizens .
