FOOTBALL – BAHRAINI football officials Abdulrahman Abdulqader and Majdi Al Doseri have been accredited by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) as VAR Information Officers (VIOs) for the 2025-26 season, the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) has announced.
BFA VAR project manager Abdulqader and IT head Al Doseri received their accreditation after completing a workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Their distinction underscores the advanced standing of Bahraini talent at the continental level, as the workshop reviewed international best practices in Video Assistant Referee (VAR) implementation.
Their selection reflects the commitment of the BFA board, chaired by Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and supported by BFA vice-president Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, to empowering national professionals and ensuring active regional representation.
The AFC accreditation of VIOs qualifies them to manage technical duties in continental competitions.
The BFA continues efforts to enhance refereeing systems and expand VAR use, in line with international standards locally and across Asian tournaments.
