Bahrain's superstar sprinter Salwa Eid Naser claimed a stunning victory this evening in the women’s 400 metres at the Weltklasse Zurich meeting in Switzerland – the grand finale of this season’s Wanda Diamond League.
Naser not only powered to a sensational win to secure the third Diamond Trophy of her glittering career, but she also set a new meeting record of 48.70 seconds while beating reigning world and Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic.
Naser’s triumph added to her Diamond Trophies from the 2018 and 2019 seasons, and it was the sixth overall won by a Bahraini athlete in the history of the Wanda Diamond League.
