FOOTBALL – Bahrain's senior men’s football national team held their first training session last night in Dubai, the UAE, ahead of their international friendly against the Emiratis on Monday.
The nationals took to the pitches of the UAE Football Association to get some work in under the supervision of head coach Dragan Talajic. The session was limited to recovery exercises and low-intensity ball drills.
The Bahrainis will continue with their preparations this evening at the same venue.
Bahrain’s clash against the UAE on Monday will take place at Dubai’s Zabeel Stadium, scheduled for a 7.15pm kick-off, Bahrain time.
Talajic’s available players for the tune-up are Mohammed Jassim Marhoon, Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Amine Benaddi, Waleed Al Hayyam, Abdulla Al Khalasi, Ahmed Bughammar, Hamad Shamsan, Sayed Mahdi Baqer, Sayed Dhiya Saeed, Hussain Al Eker, Vincent Emmanuel, Hazza Ali, Hussain Jameel, Mahdi Humaidan, Ali Madan, Ahmed Al Sherooqi, Omar Saber, Jassim Al Shaikh, Komail Al Aswad, Mahdi Abduljabbar, Ebrahim Al Khattal, Hussain Zuhair, and Sayed Mahdi Sharaf, along with goalkeepers Ebrahim Luthfallah, Mohammed Al Gharably, Abdulkarim Al Fardan, and Yousef Habib.
The Bahrainis also had a friendly against Qatar earlier this week in Doha. That game ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
The nationals are playing their friendlies as part of Fifa’s international break. They are gearing up for their upcoming competitions, headlined by the Fifa Arab Cup 2025 this December, also to be held in the Qatari capital.
