AQUATHLON – Bahrain's Hamad Almansoori captured the silver medal in the men’s open category of the sprint race in the Sharjah Aquathlon 2025, held in the UAE yesterday.
The event featured a 750-metre swim followed by a five-kilometre run.
Almansoori completed the race course in a total time of 31 minutes 43 seconds.
The 31-year-old posted a mark of 12:02 during the swim leg and then went on to finish his run in 18:58.
Al Mansoori was classified just over a minute behind men’s open gold-medallist David Andor from Hungary, who clocked a mark of 30:42 in first place.
Peter Campbell from the UK took the bronze medal in 32:56.
The Sharjah Sports Council organised the Al Hamriyah Aquathlon as part of its annual community events programme.
Held at Al Hamriya Beach, the event attracted 300 athletes who competed in swimming and running, in collaboration with the UAE Triathlon Federation and several sponsoring and supporting entities.
