Foreign Ministers of Arab and Muslim countries will hold a preparatory meeting in Doha today to prepare a draft resolution that will be discussed by the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit tomorrow, following the Israeli attack on Qatar.
Qatari Prime Minister’s adviser and Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al Ansari told Qatar News Agency that the timing of this summit has many implications as it reflects strong Arab and Islamic solidarity with Qatar in confronting the cowardly Israeli aggression that targeted residential buildings housing several Hamas leaders, and the outright rejection of state terrorism practised by Israel.
Among the leaders attending will be Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also be in Doha, but his presence at the meeting is yet to be confirmed.
This comes as US President Donald Trump met Qatari Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Friday. They discussed the future of Qatar’s role as a mediator in the region and defence co-operation following the Israeli air strikes in Doha.
