TABLE TENNIS – Bahrain's senior men’s table tennis squad clinched the silver medals in the Arab National Teams Table Tennis Championships 2025, currently being held in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Bahrainis secured their podium place after edging past their counterparts from Qatar 3-2 in their concluding fixture.
The kingdom’s senior paddlers included Rashed Sanad, Mohammed Abbas, Sayed Murtadha, and Aslam Hammana.
Their silver added to Bahrain’s rich medal haul so far in the competition, which is scheduled to continue until Thursday.
Also in Casablanca yesterday, five of Bahrain’s young squads were awarded their respective trophies and medals in podium ceremonies.
Headlining the awardees were the kingdom’s under-13 girls’ team, comprising Hessa Abdulrahman, Kenda Mahmood, and Al Jouri Khaled, who clinched the title in their age-group.
Also awarded were the under-11 boys’ team, who claimed silver in their division. Presented with bronze medals for third place were Bahrain’s under-15 girls’ squad, the under-13 boys’ team, and the under-11 girls’ contingent.
Bahrain Olympic Committee board member and Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and BTTA vice-president Abdulali Al Madah are in Morocco for the tournament.
The Arab National Teams Table Tennis Championships 2025 features several competition categories, including teams, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
They cover the following age-groups: men’s and women’s teams (born in 2005 and older), and under -19, under-17, under-15, under-13, and under-11 age groups.
