TABLE TENNIS – Bahrain added two gold medals last night in the Arab National Teams Table Tennis Championships 2025, currently being held in Casablanca, Morocco.
The kingdom’s under-13 girls’ doubles pairing of Kenda Mahmood and Hessa Abdulrahman bagged the title in their category after defeating their opponents from Syria 3-2 in the final.
Also yesterday, Bahrain’s under-13 boys’ doubles tandem of Nasser Alawi and Hassan Ebrahim secured gold in their division.
They clinched their crown after beating their opponents from Tunisia 3-0 in their final.
Meanwhile, three of Bahrain’s squads in the competition were crowned yesterday during their respective podium ceremonies.
Both the under-19 men’s team featuring Mohammed Nader Al A’ali, Majed Naji, and Yousef Hassan Aman and the under-17 men’s trio of Al A’ali, Hussain Jaber, and Majed Osama received their champions’ trophies and gold medals.
The kingdom’s senior men’s squad, meanwhile, were presented their silver medals from their teams’ competition. The kingdom’s senior paddlers included Rashed Sanad, Mohammed Abbas, Sayed Murtadha, and Aslam Hammana.
Bahrain Olympic Committee board member and Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa and BTTA vice-president Abdulali Al Madah are in Morocco for the tournament.
They joined the winning players in their celebrations yesterday.
The Arab National Teams Table Tennis Championships 2025 continues until tomorrow.
It features several competition categories, including teams, singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, covering the following age-groups: men’s and women’s teams (born in 2005 and older), and under -19, under-17, under-15, under-13, and under-11 age groups.
