A young man was made to pay AED30,000 (BD3,000) to a woman after he filmed her without her consent.
The Abu Dhabi Civil Family Court upheld the ruling of a criminal court that found the man guilty of violating the woman's privacy, ordering him to pay her AED20,000 (BD2,000) in compensation and an AED10,000 (BD1,000) fine.
Court documents revealed that the woman filed a civil claim citing emotional and reputational damages. The woman said that the incident left her stigmatised within her community.
