ASIAN YOUTH GAMES – HOSTING the third Asian Youth Games reinforces Bahrain’s position as a leading destination for major international sporting events.
This was affirmed by Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) CEO and Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) chairperson Sara Ahmed Buhiji.She noted that the Games are an opportunity to showcase Bahrain’s global standing in sports, its organisational capabilities, and its tourism and cultural offerings. She emphasised the commitment of both the BTEA and EWB to leveraging all their resources to deliver a successful edition of the Games.
Buhiji noted that hosting the Games at EWB marks a milestone for the venue, as it will be staging the opening ceremony indoors for the first time in the event’s history and host 14 sporting competitions. She added that this was possible thanks to EWB’s state-of-the-art facilities, advanced technologies, and innovative services, which create an ideal environment for athletes and audiences while upholding world-class standards.
Buhiji noted that preparations have included significant upgrades to Bahrain’s tourism and hospitality infrastructure to ensure they are fully equipped to welcome the international delegations. The priority is to create a seamless visitor experience that showcases the strength of Bahrain’s tourism infrastructure while highlighting the effective collaboration between the public and private sectors in delivering a successful event.
Buhiji added that comprehensive tourism programmes have been organised for the participating delegations in collaboration with the relevant authorities. These programmes include guided tours of Bahrain’s most notable historical, cultural, and entertainment sites, allowing visitors to fully experience the kingdom’s distinctive tourism offerings.
