BEACH VOLLEYBALL – BAHRAIN’S beach volleyball pairings lost their respective opening games yesterday in the boys’ and girls’ tournaments of the third Asian Youth Games.
Karrar Yaqoob and Hussain Warqaa tried valiantly to defeat Didula Salpadoruge and Kusal Midigaspage Don from Sri Lanka, but lost 0-2 (20-22, 17-21) in boys’ Pool B.
Fellow-Bahrainis Layan Majed and Maya Falah fell to Aishath Nadheem and Szka Mohamed Sidgee from the Maldives 0-2 (9-21, 12-21) in their girls’ Pool B encounter.
Action in both competitions continue today at Sama Bay from 2pm until after 9pm.
