ASIAN YOUTH GAMES – BAHRAIN Olympic Committee (BOC) vice-president and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) vice-president for the third Asian Youth Games Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa attended yesterday the kingdom’s flag-raising ceremony for the Games.
The event was held at Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB), one of the major venues of the Games, and it took place as an Olympic tradition to celebrate participating countries in such major competitions.
The ceremony marked Bahrain’s participation in the third Asian Youth Games ahead of today’s official opening ceremony, which will also be held at EWB. In attendance were General Sports Authority (GSA) CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar, the Games’ executive committee chairman Yusuf Duaij Muhoorfi, and the Bahrain delegation’s Chef de Mission and BOC executive director of operations Ahmed Abdulghaffar, along with other officials.
Shaikh Isa raised the kingdom’s flag while Dr Askar raised the flag of the GSA. Abdulghaffar raised the flags of the BOC and OCA and Muhoorfi raised the flag of the third Asian Youth Games.
The ceremony concluded with Bahrain’s national anthem being played.
