An 18-year-old Indian expat student died of cardiac arrest in Dubai on Tuesday night during Diwali celebrations.
Vaishnav Krishnakumar, 18, reportedly collapsed in Dubai International Academic City during a Diwali celebration. A close friend of the deceased told Khaleej Times that the boy was dancing during the celebrations when he suddenly collapsed.
He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance but could not be revived.
The hospital recorded a “death on arrival due to cardiac arrest.” The Dubai Police Forensic Department is conducting further tests.
Vaishnav was a first-year BBA Marketing student at Middlesex University in Dubai and is survived by his parents and younger sister.
Gulf News reported that his family were not aware of any underlying cardiac issues, and the boy was particular about exercising regularly and maintaining a balance between his mental and physical well-being.
