Bahrain have bagged three gold medals in quick succession this afternoon in the third Asian Youth Games.
All were won in mixed martial arts (MMA) events at Exhibition World Bahrain.
Eldar Eldarov claimed the kingdom’s first gold of the Games in the boys’ 60kg modern MMA division. Abdulakim Babaev then struck gold in the boys’ 65kg modern MMA category, and Ibragim Khalidov captured the title in the boys’ 70kg modern MMA competition.
Their three gold medals have brought Bahrain’s tally to five so far in this year’s Asian Youth Games, adding to two silver medals, one also from MMA and the other from pencak silat.
