The haunted house that inspired 'The Conjuring' is going up for sale, and the auction is set to be hosted on Halloween.
The Rhode Island farmhouse is infamous for hauntings and ghost sightings. The house has long been an attraction for ghost hunters and horror fans. Ed and Lorraine Warren, the famous paranormal investigators on whom the movie's lead characters are based, even examined the farmhouse in the 1970s after the family living there claimed they were tormented by violent hauntings.
The property will be sold off in a mortgage foreclosure auction.
The 8.5-acre estate was last sold in 2022 to self-described medium Jacqueline Nunez. She turned the house into a ghost tourism business, offering overnight stays and paranormal hunts.
However, by mid-2023, the business started to show growing pains. Wrongful termination lawsuits, harassment complaints, and other complaints eventually led authorities to revoke her entertainment licence.
Fast-forward to today, and the farmhouse is set to return to the market after it was seized by the lender for missed mortgage payments. The property will be auctioned off on October 31.
