A Turkish man has agreed to court terms to pay his ex-wife a 'cat alimony'.
The man, identified as Buğra B., transferred legal custody of their two cats to his wife, Ezgi B., in their divorce.
He also agreed to pay Ezgi 10,000 liras every three months (BD30 every month) to help fund the animals' care for the next ten years.
This amount will be adjusted annually to match inflation.
The couple split up due to severe incompatibility and a breakdown in the foundation of their marriage. However, it seems they were quite civil when it came to their 'fur-children'.
The husband also had to pay his ex-wife an additional 550,000 liras (BD4,940) in material compensation.
