BEACH WRESTLING – India and Iran swept the gold medals yesterday on the sole day of competition in beach wrestling in the third Asian Youth Games. The event was held at Sama Bay, and it featured five categories, with Indian athletes winning three of the competitions and Iran taking two.
Capturing gold for India were Sani Subhash Fulmali in the boys’ 60kg division, Arjun Ruhil in the boys’ 90kg category, and Anjali Anjali in the girls’ 55kg class. For Iran, Sina Shokouhi triumphed in the boys’ 70kg category, and Touraj Khodaei won the boys’ 80kg.
Bahrain Wrestling Federation president Abdulredha Haji was on hand amongst the officials who awarded the winners their medals.
