Bahrain’s Ingrid Vanesa Segura Grueso has bagged the kingdom’s first gold medals in the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, currently being held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Competing in the women’s under-69kg category in weightlifting this evening, Grueso struck gold in both clean and jerk and total, while claiming a third medal with a silver for snatch.
Her winnings brought Bahrain’s haul so far in the multi-sport meeting to six medals. They added to the three won in judo, which include one silver and two bronze.
