GOLF – Yousif Ali Al Binkhalil emerged as the overall winner of the Awali Golf Club (AGC) medal competition.
Al Binkhalil took first place with a colourful card that included an eagle, four birdies, six pars, five bogeys, and two double bogeys.
Nasser Yaqoob Saleh claimed the medal with a gross 70, beating three players who shot 72.
Meanwhile, Lee McIlear was the winner in division one with a net 69. He carded five birdies in his outing.
Runner-up with a net 70 was Mohamed Ali Al Kowari, who had a consistent scorecard of 15 pars.
Matthew Deakin was the division two winner, taking first place on countback with a net 69.
Adnan Mohammed Al Sowaidi was the runner-up.
The victor in division three was Wendy Doherty with a net 68.
Zsuzar Madarwala followed in second place with a net 70.
At the end of play, the winners were awarded their respective prizes by AGC captain Steve Newall and tournament director Rashed Al Qutami.
