A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 17-year-old girl in Blackwood, South Wales, UK.
A 38-year-old woman from Cefn Fforest is being treated in hospital after the incident. It is understood that the victims are mother and daughter.
An 18-year-old man from Newbridge is in custody on suspicion of both murder and attempted murder.
Police have confirmed they are not seeking any additional suspects and have increased their presence in the area to reassure the community.
Detective Superintendent Philip O’Connell stated that the victim’s family has been informed and urged anyone with relevant information to contact law enforcement.
