BADMINTON – More than 500 players from across the Gulf are expected to compete in the Indian Club Open Badminton Tournament for Juniors and Seniors, scheduled to be held from Wednesday to December 5 at The Indian Club’s premises in Gudaibiya.
Details on the event were announced in a meeting held by club officials.
The competition will feature several categories. For juniors, there will be play in the under-nine, under-11, under-13, under-15, under-17, and under-19 age groups, with only singles action for girls.
In the seniors, play will take place in men’s doubles (elite, championship, and levels one to five), women’s doubles (levels one to three), mixed doubles (elite, championship, masters, and levels one to three), masters doubles over-45 and over-50 (levels one and two), jumbled doubles over-85 and over-100, and men’s doubles motivational with both players consisting of a total weight of 165kg.
Trophies will be presented to all winners and runners-up.
