DRESSAGE – BAHRAINI dressage rider Aneesa Al Mahmood is set to represent the kingdom in the dressage competition at the FEI Asian Championships 2025, which get underway today in Thailand.
Al Mahmood is taking part with the support of Al Fursan Team captain Shaikha Noora bint Hamad Al Khalifa. The backing reflects Shaikha Noora’s commitment to empowering emerging Bahraini equestrian talent and strengthening their presence in major international competitions.
Shaikha Noora said the initiative aligns with the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa to continue advancing Bahraini equestrian sport and ensuring a strong presence in external events.
Shaikha Noora wished Al Mahmood success in her upcoming campaign, noting that investing in young riders is an essential part of developing the sport.
Al Mahmood is highly regarded as one of Bahrain’s most promising dressage riders, having delivered consistent performances in international competitions. She was selected to compete at the Asian championship with her horse Handsome, becoming one of the youngest competitors at this continental event.
She has competed in Concourse de Dressage International (CDI) Hartpury and CDI Hagen events and has shown notable progress in domestic competitions in the Netherlands, demonstrating her readiness to build a strong professional career.
Al Mahmood expressed appreciation to Shaikha Noora for her continued support and close follow-up during her preparations for this major Asian event, noting her determination to achieve positive results.
