Riyadh: Majed Al Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing of Saudi Arabia, met with Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research of Switzerland, during his official visit to Switzerland to discuss enhancing cooperation in sustainable construction, urban development, and modern technologies.
The meeting reviewed cooperation in sustainable housing policies, smart construction, and urban development. They also discussed frameworks for exchanging expertise and building partnerships to support Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of the municipal and real estate sectors, contributing to the achievement of urban development goals under Saudi Vision 2030, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Minister Al Hogail also met with Gian-Luca Lardi, President of the Swiss Constructors Association, during which they discussed advanced construction and modern technologies, including prefabricated construction and digital transformation in the construction sector, as part of the ministry’s efforts to develop the urban environment and improve the quality of life in Saudi cities.
These meetings form part of his official visit to Switzerland, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships, support Saudi initiatives in urban development and sustainable housing, expand cooperation and knowledge exchange, enhance the efficiency of the real estate and municipal sectors, and bolster the Kingdom’s regional and global standing in sustainable urban development.
