The General Food Security Authority participated in the 67th session of the International Sugar Organisation’s (ISO) Council, held in London on November 27 and 28, during which the 35 member countries and the European Union re-elected the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the council’s administrative committee for a fourth consecutive term.
General Food Security Authority President Ahmad Al-Fares stated that this re-election reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its influence in international food security organisations, including the ISO and the International Grains Council. He noted that this development underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing political and economic stature and its dedication to ensuring the stability of the global food supply.
The council’s meeting focused on developments in the global sugar market, supply chain sustainability, and opportunities for international cooperation.
