Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (GARMCO) has joined the fourth edition of the Sustainability Forum Middle East (SFME) as a forum partner.
The event, focusing on ‘Advancing Alignment, Innovation, and Implementation for Energy and Climate Transformation,’ will take place on January 27 and 28 next year at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. It will be held in the presence of Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr Mohamed Bin Daina and supported by the Supreme Council for Environment.
The forum will gather over 400 business leaders, policymakers, and global sustainability experts to discuss actionable pathways for regional climate commitments and accelerating the energy transition.
GARMCO’s partnership highlights its commitment to sustainable industrial practices. Since 2020, the company has driven its “GARMCO Green Initiative,” embedding environmental responsibility, recycling, energy efficiency, and circularity into its manufacturing processes.
Reinforcing these efforts, GARMCO recently partnered with Advanced United Systems, part of Saudi Arabia’s Taj Holding Group, to develop a 6MW solar power project at its Bahrain facilities. The initiative aims to provide renewable electricity and support GARMCO’s broader decarbonisation strategy.
“Our partnership with SFME reflects GARMCO’s commitment to supporting Bahrain’s sustainability agenda and advancing low-carbon industrial development,” GARMCO chief executive officer Mohamed Rafea said. “Through the GARMCO Green Initiative and our new 6 MW solar power collaboration, we are making steady progress across our operations.”
Laila Danesh, founder of SFME, welcomed GARMCO, noting their “leadership in circularity, responsible production, and environmental stewardship aligns strongly with the Forum’s mission to support businesses in accelerating their net-zero journeys.”
The 2026 Forum is also supported by lead partners SAFA and Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), strategic partner United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and forum partners Alba, Asry, Basrec, and American Chamber of Commerce Bahrain (AmCham Bahrain).
