GOLF – MOHAMED Sultan Faraj won the OFMC Stableford competition at Awali Golf Club last weekend.
OFMC is one of the older established social groups of Awali Golf Club, and this is the second time their members sponsored a full club competition.
Twelve prizes for up for the taking in the event. Faraj emerged as the overall victor with 38 points after shooting a gross 72, which was also the best gross round of the day.
Mohamed Al Zayed finished as runner-up with 37 points, while third through sixth, all also on 37 points, were Rashed Mubarak Busaleh, Ateeq Mujali, Gerard van Gerven, and Nathan Prince, respectively.
Paul McLean and Sanjeev Bhalla completed the top eight, both on 36 points, while Nawaf Salem Al Noaimi, Susan Scott, and Abdulla Saeed Al Kaabi were ninth through 11th, also with 36 points apiece.
Diab Sagr Al Noaimi finished 12th and completed the prize winners with 35 points.
Following play, the prizes were handed out by Awali Golf Club captain Steve Newall, tournament director Nathan Sundaresan, and OFMC president Nick Davis.
