A 26-year-old Nepalese security guard in Abu Dhabi has become the latest winner of the UAE Lottery’s Dh30 million Grand Prize.
Tayab Khan, who moved to the UAE four years ago in search of better opportunities, will share the prize equally with four close friends after the group’s winning ticket was selected in the Lucky Day draw held on Eid Al Adha.
The friends, who pooled their money and called themselves “Future Millionaires,” will each receive Dh6 million. Khan said he learned of the life-changing win through an email and was left stunned when he saw the jackpot amount.
The group had been playing together regularly, celebrating smaller wins while holding on to the belief that one day they would hit the jackpot.
With his newfound fortune, Khan said he plans to buy a Rolex watch and a Mahindra Thar, while also supporting his family to build a house and securing a better future for those closest to him.
