Abu Dhabi: Filipina Marelie David has won Dh10 million prize in the Big Ticket Raffle in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
The monthly raffle was held at the Abu Dhabi International Airport on Tuesday night.
Dubai based Marelie just couldn't believe that she had become a millionaire overnight on receiving a call from the raffle host Richard.
"I think you are not teasing me because people call and tease about such prizes," Marelie told Richard.
"Thank you so much... this is a big blessing. Timing is perfect...it's going to be December soon," she said.
David has been living in Dubai for the last 20 years and religiously bought raffle each month, sharing the amount with friends.
Marelie confirmed that the winning ticket is shared by 10 people — so each would share Dh1 million.
The list of ten winners had one other winner from the Philippines, seven from India and one from Pakistan.
