Yuki Tsunoda's steady steed blitzed him to first place at this afternoon's Formula 2 race as Mick Schumacher barely held off Callum Ilott from unseating him at the top of the standings.
Tsunoda finished comfortably ahead of Ilott's team mate Guanyu Zhou and Nikita Mazepin, in a race that featured plenty of dog-fighting amongst cars.
Felipe Drugovich, Robert Shwartzman and Ilott finished in fourth, fifth and sixth, followed by Schumacher. Even though the son of renowned racer Michael Schumacher finished behind Ilott, his extra point from putting up the fastest lap, kept his 14-point lead over Ilott intact.
The battle for the 2020 F2 championship will see its final act tomorrow as Schumacher and Ilott duke it out over the remaining 17 points at stake.
In tomorrow's race at 3.20pm, owing to F2's reverse grid format, Jehan Daruvala will start from pole, followed by Schumacher, Ilott, Shwartzman, Drugovich, Mazepin, Zhou and Tsunoda.
Formula 1's final practice session kicks off in a few minutes, with the qualifying session schedule for 8pm tonight.
