Al Najma Club edged past Nuwaidrat 79-73 in the 10th round of the Zain Bahrain Basketball League yesterday.
The four quarters ended 17-13, 23-12 (Al Najma), 28-21, 20-18 (Nuwaidrat).
Al Najma raised their tally to 15 points from six wins and three defeats, while Nuwaidrat rank fifth with 15 points.
Al Najma’s Ali Jaber shone scoring 24 points while Ali Saad scored 19 points. Avilon John and Murtadha Salman scored 19 points each for Nuwaidrat.
In a second match, Al Bahrain Club registered their second victory defeating Isa Town 99-73: 18-18, 33-20 (Al Bahrain), 25-20 (Al Bahrain), 23-15 (Al Bahrain).
Al Bahrain are in 11th place with 12 points from two wins and eight defeats, while Isa Town suffered their ninth consecutive defeat, finishing bottom of the table with only nine points.
Today, Al Riffa take on Manama at 5.30pm while Al Hala play Sitra at 7.45pm.
