Nasser Premier League leader, Riffa, continued its winning streak, beating Al Ahli 3-1 at Bahrain National Stadium in the seventh round.
Sayyed Hashem Isa opened the score 12 minutes into the match while teammate Mahdi Humaidan sealed the victory, netting two goals (44-68). Professional player Emmanuel score the only goal for Al Ahli in the 57the minute.
Riffa now have 19 points while Al Ahli ranks seventh with five points.
In a second match at Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium, Al Malkiya claimed its first victory of the season after beating defending champion Hidd 2-1.
Hidd was the first to score 30 minutes into the match, but Al Malkiya stunned them with two goals by Ahmed Mirza (own goal – 34 minutes) and Victor (76).
Al Malkiya total five points with Al Ahli sharing the seventh place, while Hidd suffered its third defeat to total eight points in the sixth place.
In a third match, Busaiteen held Budaiya to a 1-1 draw, respectively by Abdulaziz Al Sheikh (31) for Busaiteen and Khalifa Salman for Budaiya (77). Budaiya have nine points and Busaiteen six.
East Riffa will face Manama today, while Muharraq take on Al Najma.
