KIMSHEALTH has announced the opening of its brand-new East Tower in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
The Rs 300 crores sprawling complex occupies nearly 4.6 lakh sqft of area covering 10 floors.
It consists of ultramodern operation theatres, a 75-bed intensive care unit with central monitoring and separate cubicles, robotic surgery unit, hyperbaric oxygen, spacious birthing suites, labour and delivery rooms, 170 fully-air-conditioned rooms, modern wellness centres, pharmacy and a cafeteria.
It also consists of a modern 30-bed neonatology department, neonatal ICU and related services, a highly specialised dermatology, cosmetology and plastic surgery centre, second radiology unit for MRI, SPECT Scan and advanced ultra sound machines, wellness centre with fast-track consultation, executive physicals, immunisation service for all age groups and the provision of premium waiting lounges which maintain social distancing and other new hygiene systems, executive dining, pharmacy, health stores and retail outlets.
The centre will provide 800 direct and indirect jobs and serve as the centre for all transplant programmes, a centre of excellence for normal and high-risk delivery, fetal medicine and perinatology, advanced cardiac and neurosurgery and paediatric cardiac surgery.
“This pandemic has taught us many lessons and we should give a new approach to healthcare delivery combining prevention, wellness, diagnostics, curative and hospitality,” KIMSHEALTH Group chairman and managing director Dr M I Sahadulla said, during the inauguration of the new block.
“This tower will stand as a monument for a new healthcare delivery system upholding the values KIMSHEALTH stands for in India and the GCC.”

The group’s flagship hospital in Thiruvananthapuram has grown steadily from 250 beds and with the completion of KIMSHEALTH East, the hospital will have 900 beds, taking its total bed strength to about 2,000 across India and the GCC.
Executive director E M Najeeb said that as KIMSHEALTH completes two decades, the group is now present in six countries, with over 900 doctors and 6,000 healthcare professionals.
The group cares for over 2.5 million local and international patients annually through its multidisciplinary teams in India, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE.
