Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as SCYS chairman and His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for Bahrain handball team’s historic achievement at Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
“We are proud of the historic accomplishment made by our handball champions who reached the quarter-finals in the Tokyo Olympics. This alone is a great success for our handball team, whose results speak for themselves,” said Shaikh Khalid.
“This honourable result reflects the progress of Bahraini sports thanks to the support of His Majesty,” he added.
“The interest of HRH Prince Salman in the sports sector through the establishment of development projects have created an ideal environment for the players to flourish,” Shaikh Khalid added. He also praised the efforts of Shaikh Nasser in implementing the King’s directives, which have taken Bahrain’s sports to a higher level.
Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts of the handball team at the Olympics and their success, stating that the outstanding result reflects the hard work of Bahrain Handball Association under the presidency of Ali Isa Ishaqi.
