Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa inaugurated the new Umm Al Hassam Police Station yesterday.
It is part of the ministry’s strategic plan to transform police stations into integrated service centres, enhancing community partnership and keeping pace with technological developments in the security field.
Deputy Interior Minister Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Chief of Police Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, ministry Under-Secretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa were present.
The station has been designed and equipped as a comprehensive centre for citizens and residents, with modern security systems and devices to ensure efficient and high-quality services.
The minister commended the directives and support of His Majesty King Hamad for the development and modernisation of the ministry, highlighting the follow-up and interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in adopting initiatives and projects to strengthen human and technical capabilities for maintaining security and public order.
Gen Shaikh Rashid emphasised that security is essential for growth, prosperity and protecting national achievements.
He highlighted the role of police directorates in providing services and building community partnerships.
The minister was briefed on the station and its advanced security services. In 2025, the station received 5,089 reports. It features a self-service system enabling several services to be completed electronically, supporting efficiency and expansion of smart services, as well as a fleet of smart security patrols to ensure rapid response.
Gen Shaikh Rashid inspected the station’s facilities, including the vehicle area, and reviewed operational systems and procedures.
The minister emphasised the importance of continued effort, commitment and rapid response to ensure security and public safety for all citizens and residents.
