Five individuals have been arrested for their alleged involvement in collecting and passing sensitive information to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) through terrorist operatives based in Iran.

The men have been identified as Abbas Habib, Yusuf Mansoor, Sehlan Ali, Mohamed Hassan and Mohamed Fadhl. A sixth suspect, who remains unnamed, has been identified by the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science as a fugitive.

They have been accused of being involved in recruiting terrorist operatives to carry out plots against Bahrain with the aim of undermining the kingdom’s sovereignty, its security agencies and economic entities.

They also allegedly intended to spread fear and terror among citizens and residents, and endanger the security and safety of the country.
