Abu Dhabi: A Pakistani national is facing trial in the United Arab Emirates for killing a Filipina.
Lenlie Silpao Oliverio was murdered on February 19.
The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with stabbing the housemaid 66 times and referred him to the Criminal Court.
“After entering the flat, he grabbed her and stabbed multiple times until he was sure she was dead,” Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouria said earlier.
The 24-year janitor confessed to assaulting the woman saying she humiliated him several times. She even shouted at him and kicked the bucket of water he used to clean the building.
He told prosecutors that he attacked the woman in the flat where she lived with her Indian friend.
The inquiry revealed that he used knife from the Filipina’s flat and stabbed her frantically in her abdomen, chest and neck, which caused her death, reported local Arabic daily Al-Ittihad.
The father of the Filipina had come to know about his 'missing' daughter after pictures were circulated on Facebook saying she had been killed.
“The suspect confessed that he took a knife and went to her apartment at around 2pm on the pretext of fixing some problem in fire alarm.
