The Bahrain Tennis Club (BTC) has announced that the registration for the 35th GPIC Open Tennis Championship 2023 ends today at 7pm.
The club will hold the championship, sponsored by the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, from next Tuesday to November 21.
More than 150 men and women have registered for the tournament so far, and this number is likely to increase before the registration closes today.
The tournament will comprise eight categories for men and two for women. They are: men’s singles, doubles, super singles, super doubles, over-45 singles and doubles, over-55 singles and doubles, and women’s singles and doubles.
The technical committee of the tournament will hold a meeting this evening, headed by Abdullatif Mohammed Ahmed, to examine and classify the participants’ applications and prepare match schedules.
The BTC has prepared special trophies for the tournament, and has also allocated prize money for the winners.
