A visit to the Abdullah Khalil Kanoo Paediatric Oncology Unit at the Salmaniya Medical Complex was organised as part of a new partnership between the Bahrain Ship Repair and Engineering Company (Basrec) and Bahrain Future Society of Youth.
The visit, as part of the society’s Smile initiative, aimed to check on the well-being of the young cancer patients and to bring joy by presenting them with gifts. The initiative helps to provide psychological and social support to the children and their families.
The company’s chief human resources officer and board of director’s secretary Narjis Almoosawi expressed the company’s commitment to the local community and its responsibility to support charitable and civil society organisations.
Society president Sabah Al Zayani explained that the new collaboration aims to create a supportive environment for children with cancer in Bahrain and effectively mobilise resources to alleviate the psychological effects on the patients and their families.
