Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has formed a committee to review all cases of acquiring the Bahraini citizenship since 2010 to ensure the accuracy of the data and documents provided by the applicants.
The probe panel was set up after an investigation conducted by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs showed that some naturalised Bahrainis had obtained their citizenship illegally by providing false information or forged documents .
