The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) received 12 complaints of alleged misconduct during the final quarter of 2024.
Acting attorney general and SIU chief Mohammed Al Hazza said the unit heard statements from 25 complainants and witnesses, interrogated 20 Public Security Forces members, and referred seven complainants to forensic and psychological support.
The unit completed an investigation into a social media complaint, leading to the prosecution of a Public Security Forces member. On November 13, the Lower Criminal Court sentenced him to six months in prison, a ruling upheld by the Appeals Court, he said.
“Investigations in two other cases confirmed allegations, resulting in the referral of two Public Security Forces members to the Military Courts Directorate for disciplinary action. Disciplinary measures were also issued against two other members in cases previously referred to the Military Courts Directorate.”
