The Arab Energy Fund (TAEF), formerly known as Apicorp, has led a consortium to acquire 100 per cent of Metito Utilities, a global water management solutions provider, the companies said.
The consortium, which also includes Zamil Group Investment Company and the Ghandour family, will provide further growth capital to Metito Utilities.
“This investment marks a strategic milestone in TAEF’s mission to advance sustainable infrastructure and energy value chains,” said Khalid Al Ruwaigh, chief executive of TAEF. “Water and energy are deeply interconnected, and this collaboration allows us to strengthen regional leadership in addressing water scarcity challenges.”
Metito Utilities has over 25 years of experience in developing and operating water and wastewater infrastructure projects globally.
“We have consistently sought opportunities that combine business excellence with meaningful impact,” said Abdullrahman K Al Zamil, president of Zamil Group Investment Company. “Water security is fundamental to our region’s future.”
Rami Ghandour, chief executive of Metito Utilities, said the acquisition “marks a new era for Metito” and will enable the company to expand its reach and deliver sustainable water solutions across emerging markets.
The acquisition aligns with TAEF’s strategy to drive sustainable infrastructure development and contribute to the region’s economic prosperity.
Bahrain owns a 3pc stake in TAEF.
