His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday met the Ombudswoman and Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission (PDRC) chairperson Ghada Habib at Riffa Palace.
He was presented with the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission Report 2020-2023.
HRH Prince Salman affirmed the kingdom’s adoption of societal and humanitarian initiatives and programmes, which enhance the legal system and consolidate the principles of justice, under the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.
He expressed his appreciation for the PDRC’s efforts to uphold the principles of transparency within the framework of a state founded on institutions and the rule of law.
HRH Prince Salman emphasised the kingdom’s commitment to safeguarding law and justice through the enactment of legislation and policies in this regard. He noted that the work mechanisms of regulatory bodies contribute to increasing the performance and the quality of services provided.
Ms Habib expressed gratitude for HRH Prince Salman’s support in strengthening the legal system.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
